Welcome to Ghumo Partner ("App"), the driver application operated by Star Tech India ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our App to provide ride-hailing services.

By creating an account or using Ghumo Partner, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the App.

Aadhaar and PAN details are collected solely for identity verification, driver eligibility assessment, and regulatory compliance. These documents are stored with industry-standard encryption. We do NOT use Aadhaar or PAN data for marketing, profiling, or any unauthorized purposes, and they are never sold to third parties.

Why Driver Documents Are Required

All driver documents listed above are collected exclusively to verify your identity, confirm your eligibility to operate as a ride-sharing partner, and meet applicable government and regulatory requirements. Without these, we cannot onboard you as a verified partner.

Vehicle Information
  • Vehicle make, model, year, and colour
  • Licence plate number
  • Vehicle type and seat capacity
Trip & Activity Data
  • Trip history (pickup, drop, distance, duration)
  • Earnings, payments, and incentive records
  • Online/offline status and availability
  • App usage patterns and performance logs
Device & Technical Data
  • Device model, OS, and unique identifiers
  • FCM / push notification token
  • App version and crash reports
  • Network / IP information

2. Location Data How and when we access your location

Precise location data is fundamental to our ride-matching and navigation service. We access it only when the App requires it.

🟢 Foreground Location Driver Online

When you are online and active, we collect your real-time GPS coordinates to dispatch ride requests, display your position on customer maps, and assist with navigation.

🔵 Background Location Driver Online

Background location is used for continuous ride matching, live navigation updates, trip tracking, and safety monitoring while you are marked as available.

🔴 Location OFF Driver Offline

When you go offline or close the App, all location tracking ceases. We do not collect background location data while you are offline.

Google Play Background Location Compliance

Background location access is used strictly to operate the ride-hailing features described above. It is never used for advertising or data sold to third parties.

  • Map and navigation APIs (Google Maps)
  • Payment gateways (Razorpay) for fare processing
  • Cloud infrastructure (Render) for secure hosting
  • Firebase / FCM for push notifications
  • Cloudinary for secure document and image storage
Government & Legal Authorities
  • We may disclose data when required by law, court order, or regulatory directive
  • We respond to valid legal processes from competent authorities

Your personal data — including Aadhaar, PAN, and any other sensitive documents — is never sold, rented, or traded to third-party advertisers, data brokers, or any commercial entity.

  • Encryption in transit — All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
  • Encryption at rest — Sensitive documents stored with encryption at the storage layer
  • Secure servers — Hosted on Render with access controls and monitoring
  • Restricted access — Only authorised Star Tech India personnel can access sensitive driver documents, and only when operationally necessary
  • OTP authentication — Phone numbers verified via one-time passwords
  • Idempotency controls — Duplicate transaction safeguards to protect earnings integrity

Despite our efforts, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to keep your app updated and your device secure.

6. Data Retention How long we keep your information

  • Trip & payment records: Retained for up to 7 years for financial, tax, and legal compliance
  • Location data: Retained for a limited period sufficient for trip verification and dispute resolution, then deleted
  • Driver documents (Aadhaar, PAN, Licence, etc.): Retained while your account is active or as required by applicable law; deleted upon verified account deletion request
  • Account data: Retained until account deletion, after which it is securely erased except where legal retention obligations apply

As a Ghumo Partner driver, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
  • Objection: Object to processing of your data in certain circumstances
  • Data Portability: Request your data in a structured, commonly used format

🔋 Battery Optimisation Exemption Ensure the App continues receiving ride requests and location updates without interruption (similar to Ola, Rapido, Swiggy)

You can revoke any permission at any time through your device's Settings app. Revoking certain permissions (e.g., Location) may limit or prevent the use of core features.

9. Account Deletion How to remove your account and data

You have the right to request deletion of your Ghumo Partner account and personal data at any time.

  • Your account will be deactivated and personal data deleted within a reasonable time (typically within 30 days of verification)
  • Certain data may be retained longer where required by law (e.g., financial and tax records up to 7 years)
  • Ongoing legal matters or unresolved disputes may delay complete deletion
